The Importance of Voting

As election season quickly approaches, it is important for all of us to make our voice heard. Every vote counts, and I want to encourage you to get out and vote in the upcoming election. Seneca County is a great place to live and work, and as a county commissioner, I’m proud of the progress we’ve made. I want to continue building on that success and delivering results that make Seneca County even stronger.

Being informed and prepared for voting is important. The Seneca County Board of Elections website offers valuable resources to ensure voters are registered, can vote early and can find sample ballots. Below is an overview of some of the important deadlines and options for voting.

Are you registered to vote? Unsure if you’re registered? Need to update your address? You can do all of those online at the Ohio Secretary of State website at www.ohiosos.gov/elections/register-to-vote. The deadline to register to vote for the November election is Monday, October 5, 2026.

Absentee Ballots

If you would like to avoid lines or will not be able to go to your polling location on Election Day, absentee ballots are available. You can request an absentee ballot by contacting the Seneca County Board of Elections Office up to 3-days before the election. Absentee ballots must be received by the Board of Elections by 7:30 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3.
