Press Release: COMMISSIONER FRANKART SEEKS REELECTION

Bill Frankart, Seneca County

ADAMS TOWNSHIP – 2/9/26 — Seneca County Commissioner Bill Frankart is on the campaign trail again, and this time, he is buoyed by a three-year track record as a commissioner who is hardworking, accessible, and committed to the welfare of county residents. Commissioner Frankart served 14 years as an Adams Township Trustee before beginning his first four-year term as Seneca County Commissioner in 2023. He is on the May primary ballot to run for another term that would begin in 2027.

Commissioner Frankart’s successes in the last three years are many, but his reputation as a caring commissioner was built on more than the tangible improvements he brought to Seneca County. The commissioner has established himself as an always-accessible leader and critical thinker who is quick to jump in to help with practical solutions. His phone never stops ringing, and his mind never stops looking for another way to support his constituents.

Commissioner Frankart kept his initial campaign promise to bring fiscal responsibility to the Commissioner’s Office, most notably through his work establishing a healthy, balanced county budget each year. Among other economic improvements he brought to the county was the reorganization of the Seneca County Regional Planning Office. He helped guide changes that lowered costs for cities, villages, and townships and that reestablished trust with local elected officials.

The commissioner further encouraged economic health across the community when he helped facilitate the transfer of countywide grant writing services to Fostoria Economic Development Corporation. The move brought millions of dollars in grant money to the county, cities, villages, and townships.

Commissioner Frankart was instrumental in the passage of Senate Bill 147, which allows for more local oversight of landfills. The commissioner spent countless hours listening to the concerns of local residents in their homes, talking with legislators, and testifying at the Ohio Statehouse.

The commissioner’s desire to protect the health and wellbeing of local residents encouraged his successful efforts to withdraw Seneca County from the Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca (OSS) Solid Waste Management District. The move will better empower the Seneca County General Health District to oversee the landfill, and it will allow Seneca County to retain more solid waste funds.

In his three years in office, Commissioner Frankart impacted the safety of county residents through his involvement in the establishment of two new EMS stations in the county and the transformation of a Bettsville building into a third EMS station. When the fourth and final EMS station is completed, emergency service will be consistently efficient throughout the entire county, with quicker response times that will help save lives.

Commissioner Frankart helped facilitate the purchase of a much-needed new Ag building, as well as improvements of several county-owned buildings, increasing safety and wellbeing for county employees and visitors.

The commissioner’s dedication to the welfare of Seneca County residents is recognized far beyond the county. Through his collaboration on legislative projects, Commissioner Frankart has earned the trust and friendship of elected officials in Columbus and in Washington, D.C., ensuring Seneca County has a voice at the state and federal levels.

Commissioner Frankart is a lifelong Seneca County resident and farmer whose values grew alongside with the crops as he learned the importance of public service from his father, the late Michael Frankart, who was also a farmer and Adams Township Trustee. Commissioner Frankart would be grateful for another four years to continue his family’s legacy of service to the residents of Seneca County.
