Election Information: Deadlines & Options

Being informed and prepared for voting is important. The Seneca County Board of Elections website offers a valuable resources to ensure voters are registered, can vote early and can find sample ballots. Below is an overview of some of the important deadlines and options for voting.


Voter Registration

If you need to register to vote, update your information or want to confirm you are registered, you can do that online here. The deadline for voter registration is February 18 (30 days before the presidential primary election).

Absentee Ballots & Early Voting

If you would like to avoid lines or will not be able to go to your polling location on election day, absentee ballots are available now. You can request an absentee ballot by contacting the Board of Elections Office up to 3-days prior to the election. All absentee ballots must be submitted by 7:30 pm on voting day, March 17. Beginning February 18, early in-person voting will be available at the Board of Elections Office. More information on absentee ballots can be found here.

Republican Ballot

Registered republican voters will receive the republican ballot, a sample ballot can be previewed here. If you are not registered as a republican, you can request the primary ballot at your polling location or when you request an absentee ballot. If you have not declared a party, the non-partisan ballot will only have the issues and levies for your precinct on the ballot. By requesting the republican ballot, you can cast your vote for William (Bill) Frankart for Seneca County Commissioner. The Democrat ballot has no commissioner candidates, as no valid petitions were filed.
